In short: you can delete your account yourself, from Settings in any Estatitfy app. If you own an estate, hand it over or delete the estate first. You can also ask us to delete it for you by writing to hello@estatitfy.com.
1. Delete it yourself
1. Open Estatitfy — the Android app, the iPhone app, or app.estatitfy.com in a browser. 2. Sign in, then open More → Settings. 3. Scroll to Delete account, enter your password and confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away. You are signed out on every device, and your passkeys and sessions are removed with it.
2. If you own an estate
An estate outlives the person who created it, so an account that still owns one cannot be deleted. First either:
- Hand it over — in Estate settings → Transfer ownership, choose another member. You stay on as an Administrator, and can then delete your account; or
- Delete the estate — in Estate settings → Delete estate. A deleted estate can be restored for 30 days, after which it is erased for good, together with its journal and proof documents.
3. What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleted with your account: your name, email address, password, passkeys, sessions, language and appearance settings, and your membership of any estate.
Kept: the journal of an estate you belonged to. Entries can never be edited or deleted — that is what makes the journal trustworthy — so entries you recorded stay in that estate's journal. Your name is removed from them and they show as recorded by a former member. The estate's own owner can delete the whole estate, which erases those entries too.
Backups: deleted data disappears from backups within 30 days.
4. Ask us instead
Write to hello@estatitfy.com from the address on your account. We will confirm it is you, delete the account and reply when it is done, normally within 30 days. If you own an estate, we will ask what should happen to it first.
